The University of Pisa - Logistics Systems Department has organised the seminar "Green City Logistics per le città europee" attended by qualified Italian and foreign experts working in the sustainable mobility field. The programme has seen the presence of four qualified speakers among which the responsible for Swedish funding programmes for research projects in the field of urban logistic, Märta Brolinson, former responsible for Stockholm city logistics projects. Among the Italian speakers Giorgio Ambrosino MemEx (www.memexitaly.it) and (www.tages.it) and Stefan Guerra LUCENSE (www.lucense.it), representing LIFE ASPIRE Consortium. The seminar had given the opportunity to present and discuss a new approach for urban logistics suggested by the city of Lucca. The new proposed approach wants to overcome the model of the single urban distribution center and to solve its criticality. The new approach is currently underway with LIFE ASPIRE project. TRB is the largest event in North America in the field of transport and logistics and one of the most important of the world. The spotlight theme for the 2018 meeting was “Transportation: Moving the Economy of the Future”. TRB2018 meeting program covered all transportation modes, with more than 5000 presentations in nearly 800 sessions and workshops addressing topics of interest to more than 13.000 professionals from all around the world.
LIFE ASPIRE was represented by Giorgio Ambrosino (MemEx) in the framework of workshop organised by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the European Commission (EC) on “Urban Freight”, on January 11, 2018. Giorgio Ambrosino had the possibility to present and discuss the project, its mains actions (implementation in Lucca and transferability and scale up in Zadar and Stockholm) and outcomes with the participants of the roundtable coming from different EU and US public Authorities (Short presentation).
