Shortly after the official start of the demonstration phase, a delegation of the project leaded by the coordinating beneficiary Municipality of Lucca and two of the technical partners MemEx and LUCENSE have met the representatives of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, members of the Technical Scientific Committee of the project.

The meeting was held in Rome at the premises of the Directorate General for Road Safety – Div2 – Road traffic and approval of the related regulation and control devices.

The participants discussed on the operating methods of the demonstration phase, the technologies installed in Lucca (RFID antennas, smart sensors for load/unload bays and cargo bike stations), the awarding system for the most sustainable transport operators and on the current regulatory framework for RTZ. The meeting was also the occasion to discuss about the sustainability and possible evolution of the LIFE ASPIRE project in the medium/long term.
